Just saw that Sybil Exposed: The Extraordinary Story Behind the Famous Multiple Personality Case by Debbie Nathan will be released in October 2011!

I remember reading Sybil: The True and Extraordinary Story of a Woman Possessed By Sixteen Separate Personalities by Flora Rheta Schreiber back in college. Since I was a psych undergrad major, I was fascinated. So I wonder what this book will tell?

Details from the Publisher Simon & Schuster here.

  1. Oooh!! Thanks for posting about both! What, 16 personalities? I have to read that!

  2. Wow, what an interesting looking book! I, too, was a psychology major in undergrad so this really interests me. It would be neat to see if what they say in the book lines up with the things I was taught in Abnormal Psych class :)

  3. @Aths - I don't remember a whole not about it but it was an interesting read. It is a bit of a controversial book since some said it's fake or something like that.

@Bailey - I know, multiple personalities or dissociative personalities or whatever they call it now is so controversial!

  4. Oooo, this sounds so interesting! That cover is really creepy too. Dolls give me the creeps.

  5. @Kim - you're right about the dolls! Now that a think about it, lots of dolls in horror movies. Chucky anyone? :)
